Rowan is Pippin’s only daughter from
her litter by Ch Bedeway Artful JW. She was also the prettiest puppy in the
litter, according to my husband and most of the family. She also has what is
known as “attitude”. For the first two years of her life, Rowan was part of a
dynamic duo with her litter brother, Brummell who now lives in Teddington,
London with Maria and her family. This duo was quite evenly
matched at the start but Rowan stayed the dainty girl and her full grown
height is only 131/2” tall at the shoulder. She did
quite well as a minor puppy winning a place at her first few shows culminating
in 1st Special Beginners Dog/Bitch at West Mercia Beagles Club’s

Then she became a teenager and between March and August she steadfastly kept
her nose to the ground whilst in the ring and I realised that I had her
mother’s daughter on my hands. So I went back to the drawing board and started
to teach her to free show and she began to get up into the cards. So what did
we do next? – We mated her to Redcap Renaissance and she is now taking a
break from the ring to bring up her adorable litter of seven! But she will be
back with renewed confidence in the autumn.
